Golf: 24-25 Season Comes to an End in Region Championships

The CCC golf team competed in the region championship at Whispering Creek Golf Club in Sioux City, Iowa. Sunny skies and low winds prevailed throughout the three day tournament.

CCC had a good showing in the first day and finished ahead of a couple of teams that are ranked significantly higher. CCC head coach Sam Elgert said day two was more challeging as the putts were not falling. Freshman Spencer Knispel played good throughout. On day three Jude Elgert, Steven Sladky and Knispel all scored in the 70s. 

"I was happy overall with my guys play in this tournament and this year," said CCC head coach Sam Elgert. "I am super excited to get to work this summer and we will be ready to rock come fall."

The region championship was the last event for sophomores Elgert and Sladky.

"Jude and Steven were so key to me getting comfortable and getting my feet wet in this whole coaching thing," Elgert said. "They were my first sophomores I had for two full seasons and they showed great leadership, drive and passion. Steven was always one I can always rely on for a laugh. I am going to miss these guys a lot."
