Women's Basketball: Sophomore Day Victory for the Raiders

The Central Community College women's basketball team hosted Ellsworth CC at home, on Saturday, February 21th sophomore day. A recap of the match is below:

Central Community College honored the six sophomores on sophomore day: Janie Munter, Lexi Fiscus, Delaney Reeg, Cayleigh Jackson, Jordan Sheridan, and Becca Stoddard. As well as honoring these six, the Raiders secured a hard-fought 59–51 victory over Marshalltown CC powered by a dominant performance from Lexi Fiscus. Fiscus led all scorers with 24 points, including four triples, while also grabbing eight rebounds to anchor the Raider offense. Central's defense was the story of the game, swiping 18 steals and forcing Marshalltown into a 23.9% shooting performance from the floor. Delaney Reeg was a force on both ends, stuffing the stat sheet with nine rebounds, five steals, and three assists, while Jayla Merrill provided a major spark with 10 points and six assists. 

The Raiders move to 9-20 and have their last game of the season at Iowa Lakes on February 25th.
